I would like any suggestions on how to create a looping “slide show” that starts when the home page is loaded. What I’d like to add is something like this: http://www.lizalaird.com/
I am using Freeway 5.5 Pro.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The simplest way is to use the two Freeway Actions - Target Hide’Show Layer and Sequence Timer. Just stack you images with the first action applied to each one and set the Effect to Fade, giving each one an incremental Target number. Sequence Timer is Page action and when applied, select the Trigger numbers in the range as Yes and set Loop: Yes, Run Time: On page load and a suggest a Speed: 2400, or thereabouts.
Otherwise you can import a simple slideshow.
