[Pro] css menu - not dropping down!

Okay, I really must be doing something wrong! After a few years of setting up navigation menus manually with rollovers, I thought I’d try a drop down menu using the css menu action.

So, I’ve created a 4 page document, created a html list of links with the last 3 of the 4 items indented, applied the action, and previewed it in Safari. The links all work and it looks how I would expect, apart from the fact that all 4 lines of the menu are permanently on display - there is no drop down! I expected that only the top line of the list would appear and the other 3 lines would appear when I hovered over the top line.

What am I doing wrong?

All your items need to be indented once and the sub-menus once more. Sub-subs once more again.

D’oh!

I’ve literally just read that in the book, after re-reading the instructions I don’t know how many times!

Okay, problem 2. The drop down only appears to drop to the right or left, how do I get it to drop down vertically below no. 1 in the list?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Scratch that, I know now. I had thought that setting the layout to vertical would give me a vertical menu - apparently not! Thanks for your help.

I’ve done the slide down menus using the Show/Hide Layer Action, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Bob

I’ll look into that because I’m having a mixed degree of success with css menus at the moment.

Thanks
