I have the IE compatibility on. Is there anything else I could be missing?
The problem is under the Portfolio section. I’m guessing it might be because I created a loading icon to allow time for the embedded videos and music to load. To do this, I created a graphic box and applied a Transition FX to disappear, giving the content a 2 second head start with loading. Is there a better way to do that? I got that idea from combing the forums, but that could be an outdated way as well.
I think it’s unlikely to be anything that can be fixed if it is just happening sporadically. It’s more likely to be a consequence of having a plugin area (Flash) directly behind where the menu appears. What it might be is the Flash movie hiding the menu when a new frame plays. Could you ask them if this is happening even after the animation has finished or if it happens at all times?
Update: It is the flash movie intro on the home page that is blocking the css dropdown menu. It is also blocked by the portfolio pages that have an mp3 files or video files directly behind it.
Is there any fix for this? I’m shocked that css tool bar won’t work with IE if you have any embedded content.
Also, I read something about flash movies, or all plug-ins, never being able to be compatible behind a css menu, but it works just fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. It just has problems in IE. SInce the problem with this site isn’t universal, I’m hoping there is a work around that didn’t exist when Walter had given that advice before.
HI,
as far as I am aware, it’s a problem in the browser and how it handles plugin content rather than the code that Freeway builds. Plug in content is generally handled by taking over the area of the window, regardless of whether content is “above” it or not. It’s analogous to pasting a poster over a real window - you can’t see what’s inside the house anymore.
More modern browsers are handling this better, but some are clearly not doing the job properly.
My advice - avoid overhanging content over Flash etc…
