[Pro] css stylename for short text not working on inline items

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me to figure out why CSS styles are not showing up on inline items when I publish the site. I’m using Webyep Short text action for each item and have given each item a different style:

h1tan
h2tan
body

But when I publish the page some of the styles revert to the default paragraph text.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks

Hi Mog
ok if you are using H tags you need to do something within the action palette on the loop start and loop end, but first lets go over the construction first…

  1. within a div or table cell insert the loop start then add a space and add the short text item then another space
  2. then insert a return, add a space, add the second short text item, add another space.
  3. hit return and add a long text item.
  4. hit return one more time and add the loop end
  5. now highlight the top line including the spaces and loop start and apply the H1 tag from the inspector palette.
  6. Highlight the next line including the spaces and assign the H2 tag from the inspector palette.
  7. now the clever bit you need to do if you are applying H tags.
  8. click on the loop start look at the action palette and set the Remove the enclosing <TAG> to true
  9. repeat for the loop end… Remove the enclosing <TAG> to true
  10. then quickly name all the webyep items and thats it done your elements will now remember the by styling attributes within the loop.
I have sent you an example directly to your email address
    cheers max

Hi Max,

Mmm not really sure what is going on but I’ve tried your method and there are no styles showing up at all now. I used the template you sent me too and just changed the styles to the styles on my freeway document.

http://www.furlined.co.uk/test.php (See the text on the right hand side)

I highlighted the items and added the headers via the inspector. I tried this with and without the stylename added to the action. The latest shows it without the stylename added to the action and just via the inspector palette.

The only thing I’m thinking could be causing the problem is the fact that I’ve added some extra code (via Coda) for Webyep gallery to my Sheet1.css file. It seemed to affect the text on the music page and change it to the default paragraph text too until I moved that bit of code to the bottom of the css file underneath all the other css. I needed to add the extra code as I wanted to enable a photo frame background for the photo gallery images.

Do you think this could be causing the issue?

Thanks for your help Max!

Best wishes

Mog

Hi Max,

Problem Solved!

I’ve just noticed that Freeway was not publishing my h1 style. I created a style called h1tan but when I looked at the Sheet1.css from the source code on the web, it wasn’t showing up in the code. I also published the Freeway site again and checked the files on my computer. The style was still not showing up in the code there either.

So I tried ‘Publish Everything’ And it worked!

I’m not sure why the items on the right of the test page are not working. They are still using the default paragraph style.

If I enter the info into the stylename for the Short Text action it seems to bework fine. I just need to remember to check the ‘Publishing Everything’ button.

Thanks so much again for your help.

Best wishes

Mog
