[Pro] CSS Transparency Action Issue

Hi all

I’m putting together a simple online brochure carousel, as example URL, and have used the CSS Transparency Action for the buttons and tabs etc. The transparency is set to 70% and all is fine except in Firefox where the ‘next’ button appears to be about 50%. It’s as it should be in Chrome, Safari, Opera.

Anybody have any ideas as to what’s happening and how I can fix it?

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
The class style ‘next’ sets the opacity of the item to 70% and you’ve it applied to both the link as well as the parent div. It looks like Firefox is the only browser that is giving you what I would have expected and showing the button at 70% opacity and then 70% opacity again so 35% of the original. The other browsers look like they are ignoring the nested opacity settings.

Try and remove the ‘next’ opacity nesting and you should find the issue resolves itself.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim

Thanks for your speedy reply.

Your description is very clear re the nested opacity but I’m not sure how to fix that as the ‘next’ button isn’t nested it’s just a layered graphic item with the transparency action applied, as are all the other buttons. Interestingly if I apply the Carousel 2 Button Action to the main carousel image and publish it causes the image to have 35% oppacity the same as the next button even though the Transparency Action isn’t applied to it?? Could it be a clash between the Transparency and Carousel Actions?

Cheers
Dave

Possibly. I’d need to take a look at the class styles each Action creates to see if they both define or use a ‘next’ style. Unfortunately I don’t have time to look at the moment but will try later.

Tim.

No worries Tim I quite understand. As time of the essence my end I have reverted to rollovers to create the effect but hoping you can see what’s going on at some point as the transparency action is great, use it a lot.
