In the drop down menu for Action Item, there is no “Comments” to select. I am very new to Freeway and most, if not all of the posts I have looked at talk way over my head. What are h3 tags? I am not using Blogger or Word Press, or any other place to host my blog. I am building it from scratch in Freeway and uploading it to my server. The other options I have already tried, and with much perseverance, ended up realizing the futility of going any further. Can someone please help me over this hump? Thank you.
To use Disqus (Comments) - On the page you wish to place comments on, go to the Insert menu and select Comments from the Action Item
Open the Action Palette from the Window menu
Enter your shortname in the Website Shortname field
The resulting comments use h3 tags so set your h3 tags up in the Edit Styles dialog to look the way you want. To style the rest of the text in the comments, apply a style to the item.
An h3 Tag is included by default in a new FW Pro document - you can select vit in the Styles palette and using the Cog (top right of the styles palette) you can choose to edit your h3 Tag to make it look the way you want. Change colour, font, text size etc.
Hello,
I have built a few blogs and added the comments action. It looks okay on the
page in Freeway, but when I upload, I get a message that says. ACTION HAS
JavaScript ERROR. The following Actions will be ignored as they have a known
JavaScript Error. And it lists all my blog pages. What am I doing wrong and
how do I fix this?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
Now that Hurricane Sandy has passes, and our power is back, I can respond to
this email. I don’t know how to send you a file. Please explain. The boxes
for disqus show up on my blog pages when my website is uploaded and my
husband left a message in one of the boxes on a blog, but it never showed up
on disqus when I looked at it. How can I manage comments when they don’t
appear? Something seems to be missing. Thank you for helping me through
this.

Hi Johnna,
It's hard to know what's happening without seeing it. Can you send your
file into support(a)sotpress.com so we can take a look, please?

But it is showing on your website?
If it shows on your site then it must be on the Disqus site too. Are you looking in the correct place?
In Disqus go into Dashboard and then your sites are listed down the left hand side.
Have you changed your settings for Moderation etc.
Hello,
Disqus is working, however, the comments disappear the next time I upload my
website. Is that supposed to happen? Also, can I just upload one new page
after I build it in Freeway, instead of the entire website every time?
Thanks for your help.

No - can you post a link. Are the comments still there when you visit the Disqus site?
Also, can I just upload one new page after I build it in Freeway
Also No - unless you build it as a single page FW file. Some actions will ‘dirty’ a FW page every time and require that page to be uploaded. What actions are you using.
Hello,
The link is jvwhealthypeople-pets.info/salmonrecipe.html or go to
jvwhealthypeople-pets.info and select the Salmon Recipe. The comment is in
Disqus, but does not appear any longer on the website, after I upload it
with additional pages. What actions am I using? Add This, Twitter Follow,
Facebook Like Button and Comments Button. HTML boxes, and Graphics boxes: I
noticed that when a box is green it “layers”, and when I uncheck layer, it
changes to “blue”. A green box is not stable and will move over nearby text,
out of the place where I put it. I find no instructions about this in the
knowledge base. How can I learn more about this behavior? See the bottom of
the blog titled Loving the strays & rescues. The name Missy is supposed to
go over the white cat and the name Clara, in white font, floats over the
words “happy and balanced” above the photo. The other names, Ashley, Toby &
Emma are supposed to be below the cats they go to. Everything moved up about
1". The photo they are layered over is in a blue Graphics box, and the names
are in green HTML boxes. Thanks for your help. Johnna Wheeler

A green box is not stable and will move over nearby text, out of the place where I put it.
This is one of the fundamentals of FW Pro - the option to use a Table Layout construction (blue bounding boxes and old school) or CSS Layout (green bounding boxes).
In its simplest form in a table layout each item on the page is on the same level as its peers and no 2 items can occupy the same space hence expanding text size increases the size of the container and adjacent elements are pushed out of the way.
In CSS layout (analogous to Photoshop layers) each item is independant and different items can exist in the same position without affecting others around although each will be on its own plane - like different floors of an apartment block. You can change the relative positions of these layers ie you can move one to the top floor and another to the basement.
So in your pages you have a mix of these items - the green bounded ones can sit anywhere but blue ones cannot sit on top of other blue ones.
So when you view on line a blue one can expand and be covered by a green one.
You would be safest to stick to Table layout (all blue - which Express does) until you are more comfortable with it.
When you Click on the Toolbar button to select either Table Layout or CSS layout every item you create from that point on will be a layer (if you have selected CSS Layout) but prexisting items will remain as whatever they were when you created them. So you will need to select each item and look in the inspector if you want to change them.
That is why you should decide early on which method you want to use.
Hi,
I thought I deselected the CSS layout before I started, but I just looked
and it was there. When I got started on my blog website from memory, I must
have left out that step, because I started with the template and things got
crazy after that with Blogger. So what about the Disqus comments not
re-posting when I upload my website changes? Do you have any experience with
that? Thanks for the info. Johnna Wheeler

Sorry - I meant to come back to this after I had looked from my desktop.
Is there any chance you have changed this page’s name - if so you may need to use a Comments ID or Disqus Identifier in the action interface to relink your comments with the page.
This from Disqus:
disqus_identifier
Tells the Disqus service how to identify the current page. When the Disqus embed is loaded, the identifier is used to look up the correct thread. If disqus_identifier is undefined, the page’s URL will be used. The URL can be unreliable, such as when renaming an article slug or changing domains, so we recommend using your own unique way of identifying a thread.
