There are a few things going on here

1 - The sideways scroll uses an inline construction technique like this http://www.deltadesign.co/examples/slider.html

2 - A custom scrollbar - I think Thomas has a good example but search here for Custom Scrollbar

3 A lightbox with gallery - there are many of these to choose from. The lightbox part is easy with one of Walters lightbox actions - not so easy to add the previous next part without another JS library like jQuery.
