Hi although I’ve been using Freeway Pro for a number of years, I’m completely new to ecommerce. So far I’ve successfully set up a shop on the website concerned. Now, however is the time to have it running and have a system that can automatically give the payer, secure access to the downloadable software.
I’ve looked around Mals Ecom site and so far haven’t found a way of setting this up yet and was wondering if other’s on this list have successfully done this and if you have some advice or information in this area. I’m currently looking at Linklok as this seems to be an answer. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I use LinkLok to deliver my downloads. They are not software downloads, they are all of the Freeway ScreenCasts. LinkLok for Mal’s is great and easy to use.
Hi Dan,
I am using Linklok for Paypal not Linklok for Mal’s. Is there any difference and if so do you know what it is? Should I be using Linklok for Mal’s instead as I’m having problems being able to download the software after after payment? I’m able to do everything successfully up to this point. Any clues to what I’m doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, you’re going to want to use LinkLok for Mals. That’s what I use for my download delivery. It offers a download page where people can download your products and it’ll send them an email with product links that are masked so the URL isn’t made available. It also interacts with PayPal so once the payment goes through then it will deliver the items.
It’s quite amazing if you’re using Mals for software downloads.
Thanks Dan for that information, i’ve just swapped over to Linklok Mals. I now however, have exactly the same problem as with Linklok Paypal. Every time I test whether the download email will actually download, it refuses to do so. Can you tell me how you set up your screencasts on the folder in your server as this is the area where I’m not completely sure of how it needs to be set up for it to successfully download after payment has been made.
The User Guide should help out with it as it has pictures of the steps. I took the advanced course and set my products up in a database so people couldn’t mess around with it.
If you follow the steps in the User Guide that came with it, you should be able to figure it out easily. Important things to make sure are correct is Remote Call settings and making sure your paths to the files are correct.
Hi Dan
I’ve almost got it set up but not quite, I’ve used the test form and the software now downloads there and everything works to the point where I receive an email saying:
Thank you for your order. For reference your order number is 8640265.
You have ordered items that are not downloadable. Your order will be processed as quickly as possible.
I’ve checked Remote Call numerous times, tried POST and GET settings but nothing seems to get it to being available for download. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated as I’m getting a little desperate as the client is understandably getting anxious.
