When using an e-form you can only change the quantity and or variations. You cant have an menu/list with different prices in it. For instance the article I sell is different in price depending on the shipping method (1st calls, surface mail, airmail). I thought I use a menu/list so customers can choose which shipping option they want. But I can only change the quantity or variations, not the actual price of the article itself. To be able to do that I need to create an e-button for every option. …I hope I have explained it better now. Thanks for helping.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but what I think Jan is trying to do is set up a
Mals purchase form where the user’s selection changes the final price in the
cart. For example if we were to sell a coat it may retain for $100.00 in all of
the styles apart from the ‘limited edition’ style that sells for $150.00.
Using the Mals cart there are a number of different ways to do this; select
lists, check boxes and radio buttons for example all of which are available if
you are willing to hand code the form.
I’m pretty sure that the stock Freeway Shop actions don’t support price
variations although you can change the description and quantity using the
E-Product Variation action.
There are three possible solutions that I can see;
My commercial Mals actions (which the Softpress ones are based on) will
achieve this slightly differently by using an action called Multiprice select.
You can read more about the action at http://www.freewayactions.com
You could use the Freeway Shop actions to get as close as you can before
editing the resulting code either using the Source Code Snooper action or after
the page has published in any text editor. The disadvantage here is that these
edits will need to be made each time you publish the page (in the case of
editing with a text editor) or locking the item out of the Freeway design
environment when the SCS action is used. The benefits of tweaking Freeway’s
code is that it’s free and can be very quick if you just need to adjust a
couple of items.
The third option is to find an example of the buy item you need and drop it
in as a block of markup. Obviously this isn’t ideal as you won’t be able to
adjust the form items in Freeway’s design environment but again it is quick and
if you know what you are doing you can add these to your page quite quickly and
painlessly.
Jan, please let me know if you want help with either of these options. Adjusting
the E-shop action output should be easy enough to do if that’s the route you
want to take.

Tim.
Oh, and the other thing I meant to mention is that unfortunately the Softpress
actions and my Mals actions cannot be interchanged. Although both sets of
actions achieve similar results they each work in different ways.
Unfortunately this makes migrating sites between the two systems a manual
process at the moment.

Tim.
This is very useful information. I feel a bit stupid not being able to explain myself very well, but the answers are giving me the right direction I need to go. I will play with this today.
All many thanks for your help. Very much appreciated. Regards, Jan.
