[Pro] E-Quantity & E-Product variation

What is this and how does it work?

I’m trying to set up an e-shop using mal’s e-commerce, but the tutorial with freeway doesn’t say how clients can enter the quantity they require. Any help gratefully received

Have a look at this page http://www.deltadzine.net/tartan/

This was created using the FW e-shop

Each product has its own table with 4 columns and 1 row with the E buy form action applied to the table. Then in the third cell is inserted the E quantity action and in the fourth the E product variation.

This means that the E buy form action automatically displays a Buy Now button in the first cell with cell three and four’s buttons as selectors for quantity and variation.

Hope that helps.

Hi David,

Once again thank you for your reply, that looks exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for. So in cell 3 and 4, do you have to insert a menu/list and then apply the e quantity action to it? Also when does the client add their contact details, is this done through the freeway site, or do I receive these from the e-commerce site?

Sorry for all the questions.

Jon

Hi

I’ve just checked the link for http://www.deltadzine.net/tartan/

Very impressive and exactly what I want.

However, when I clicked the buy button an error message appeared which referred to Freeway and Mals e-commerce.

When it works, if I selected to buy a product from each row would I have to press the relative buy button on each row or would pressing one buy button take care of it ?

Thanks

Yes - Menu/List with the appropriate action applied

Contact details are collected on Mals server at the time of payment/processing

Just a non working extract from a Client’s site.

Each Buy Now button relates to one product so you have to select the correct button for the correct product.

Each product has its own table with the EBuy Form action on it - it is in this actions dialogue box that you put the product details. The others (quantity and Variation) do just that - vary the quantity and colour or size or whatever of that particular product.

Thanks David,

After I posted my question about the site not working I realised that it was probably an example but couldn’t find how to retract my question.

I have registered with Mals. All seems quite straightforward. They help you to generate the code for buttons etc. Are the Mals actions suite of massive benefit when creating the e-commerce site or just a help speeding up the workflow?

Thanks

I really don’t know about Tim’s action suite as I haven’t used it but he provides excellent support for his actions and it is more fully featured than the SP standard actions. And its only $40 - a small price to pay for something that keeps on giving…

Hi again,

Where can I get the E buy form and the E quantity actions from ?

Thanks

Part of the standard FW shop action suite so you should have them all.

Thanks

Hi,

I created a page using Davids example… http://www.deltadzine.net/tartan/

I have tried to add my own buy now buttons. I created a graphic item, applied the ‘button’ and ‘ebuy button’ actions.

When I view the page, the standard form buy button no longer appears but my buy button does not do anything ?

Any ideas ?

Hi Anna,

I can’t remember how I fixed this issue, I know it was something simple !

Check that the CSS box is ticked on your graphic item and try ‘Publish Everything’.

Let me know if you still have problems and I’ll look into it further.

Good luck

Hi Anna,

Remove the E-Buy Button Action from the graphic and instead check the Submit checkbox in the Inspector palette.

Hope this helps,

Joe
