[Pro] email link

Is there a way of creating an email hyperlink so that the target email address isn’t visible to the viewer?
My client hates spam and I am told this is one way of avoiding it.
Thanks.

Hi Colin,
There are methods of obfuscating (or hiding) the email address (my
Anti Spam action has a few - http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=002)
or you could do away with direct mailto links all together and add a
feedback form to your site that handles the email for you.
Luckily I also have an action for that too!

Also remember that as standard FW offers the option to do this for you in Document Setup>Output - 7th selector down Email hiding:Encode with entities. This encodes the email address in the source code of your page so that it cannot be harvested by Spambots.

To hide the email address from someone looking at your page you would select the text that you want to use as your link ie ‘Click to email me’ then Edit>Hyperlink and choose the External tab.

Then choose the mailto: selector and add the recipients email address in there.
