[Pro] Embed & Stream MP3

I have a friend in Australia who, over the last three or four years, has set up a WebSite to which he has uploaded, with permission, around 400 MP3 versions of the complete archive of 78 rpm Salvation Army recordings, dating as far back as the 1920’s, and including some of the Sally’s own early 1900 archive recordings, plus some of the initial early 1960’s EP & LP vinyls. I am attempting to impress him with the ease of working with Freeway on a Mac, but he is presently working with “Front Page” within the PC world.

As each of the 78’s are transcribed as individual MP3’s, streaming is not a problem, but he has also uploaded the EP/LP tracks as individual MP3’s as well. He is now finding that he is being asked for the additional facility of being able to stream the EP/LP MP3’s as one continuous stream.

So my questions are these. Firstly, is there any way within the Freeway paradigm this could be achieved, or secondly, how about a QuickTime solution? I had an interesting discussion with Apple Level 2 QuickTime Tech Support, who suggested that perhaps there was a way, maybe by adding some JavaScript coding to the MP3’s, to encourage handing on from the end of one to the start of the next, rather as can apparently be achieved with Flash Movies. I suppose that something on the lines of an iTunes Playlist would be ideal, if there was any Web based equivalent (I do understand that iTunes via the Web is NOT an option!!)

Purely for the love of the music, and the help it brings to so many Salvos and ex Salvos worldwide, my friend has invested much of his retirement time into this amazing project, and I would be so grateful of any help or advice, as advising him on either of the possible solutions discussed above is way above my own level of competence.

Many thanks

Try wimpy player or jw media player - neither are free, but they both work well.
I’m using wimpy rave on temp version of brucegarnitz.com

Kavatunes can be used as a substitute for itunes on the web but I haven’t had time to play with it yet.
