I’m currently redesigning my website and really like the use of the ‘embossed style’ web font, as shown on the cnet site footer. I’m familiar with using Google Web fonts in Freeway Pro, but can anyone shed some light on how to do the embossed style in Freeway Pro please?
I love the text-shadow property, there are so many cool things you can do
with it. Here are some Freeway Pro styles you can import and use to turn
ordinary text into fun and interesting text
One you missed and that is one of my favourites (possibly because it is impossible to do in Freeway without resorting to extended styles) is blurred text where the foreground text is set to transparent leaving the shadow to show through. If you animate the shadow (either over time or based on the mouse position for example) you can get some great fading in and out of focus effects.
If you view this in a Webkit based browser Opera or Firefox you should see the text blurred out until you mouse over it.
Regards,
Tim.

I’ll dig out an example if I get time later. Oh heck, as it is Friday,
here we are; Oh, my poor eyes!

Thanks for the reply, you’ve inspired me to be much more creative with my redesign now! You have some excellent examples on your page and I’m surprised at what’s achievable without the addition of images.
I’m currently redesigning my website as a fully inline box model construction and trying to get it as clean and simple as possible. Despite a few headaches (well, a LOT actually) I think I’m beginning to understand the method. I think.
Yes, the inline method can be soooooo frustrating… Sometimes it is easier
to select items in the site pane and using the Return key to enter the box,
as touching items with the mouse can mistakenly result in inline items
moving around. Of course, if you remain patient, you can use your single
undo to correct a mistaken inline move. Best of luck to you!

ahhh, the single undo… if it wasn’t for that the learning curve would be so much easier…! Roll on Freeway 6…
My biggest frustration comes when trying to insert a HTML box between existing ones - it’s hard to find where the cursor is lurking, until I realised about using the site pane. I’ve noticed (just, since you reminded me) that I can select an item in the site pane, and press the left arrow or right arrow on the keyboard and selecting ‘insert HTML box’ to have some control over where it gets inserted.
I an ideal world I’d have a finished idea of how the site will look before I started and work my way down. If only I didn’t keep changing the design…!
