Being new to Freeway Pro i am re-designing a school website and looking to implement an event / calendar scenario (similar to the example) and was wondering how you would go about doing this ?

I dont think that this calendar is any more than some styled tex - admittedly the site uses a CMS for updating the content.
If you want a Calendar that can be updated by staff without a full CMS you might take a look at Google Calendars which you can include in your site via an iFrame.

Have a look at http://www.calendars.net/ This is a FREE calendar with out adverts.
I also use it at Loading...
