[Pro] Facebook Like Button Action vs Crowbar

What’s the difference between the Facebook Like Button action in FWP and using Crowbar with the code generated by this website?

I don’t know - honestly (or I don’t see any) but I share a lil secret here:

Whenever I can, I prefer the hand-hacked way. This is just because I can influence code much better (remember the 100% width thing on one of your previous posts). Actionized code can be adjusted as well - but only the things that are present. And sometimes you just need an additional class which is hard to stripe in then.

I love actions as an immense time safer but I use them under two conditions:

  1. I know what they are doing

  2. I don’t have a clue on how to solve it in a different way

But it should be noted, that I long left the pure WYSIWYG route - I simply have no need for “previewing” everything during construction cause:

“The truth is in the browser …”

Cheers

Thomas

Regrettably, I’m not at that point yet so I still rely on a good number of actions, and of course the Extended option. However, I did discover that placing the Facebook button in a table at least gives me some control over its position.
