[Pro] Feature Request

Hi everyone

Usually I create a website and upload to my own server for approval before letting it lose on the world at the client’s domain. But I had one recently where a simple home page was needed quickly. Now they are ready I have completed the site but need approval at my server before uploading it to theirs. So I need to change the FTP details in Freeway once more, and then back again. It would be nice to have a feature in Freeway where, as you go to upload, a dialogue appears asking to which server? The default could be the domain with a drop-down list of alternatives. What are your thoughts on this?

I tackle this issue by using both Transmit and Freeway. In Freeway you have two options as far as uploading goes and that’s through the FTP options and through File Copy. FTP is what you use now, but with Transmit you can mount webspaces as literal hard disks and you can then use File Copy to copy to that. Freeway saves both the FTP and the File Copy settings so that’s what I do when I have to upload to my space then once approved and ready I upload to their space.

The only caveat is that there isn’t an easy way to remove one of the settings if you need to send the file over other than going through and deleting all the fields or changing the file copy location.

Hi Dan J

Thanks for that, I’ll have to investigate. I actually use Vicomsoft FTP client and have the Freeway site open alongside my chosen webspace and simply drag across but the Freeway option would still be good.

Many thanks,
