[Pro] Feedback form to GoDaddy

I’ve done a simple form that works when I upload to any other host except for GoDaddy. I followed instructions and client has set up a specific email address etc in GoDaddy.

DO I NEED TO CLICK ON THE “USE GODADDY’S MAIL SCRIPT’ IN ADVANCED SECTION ??? or not?

Cheers Dave

Hi Dave

we’ve seen this problem with Sparkle’s mail form feature a few times. Perhaps this applies to you as well, this is what a client reported:

I use the Linux (CPanel) shared hosting with GoDaddy. By default with them, MX Entry is set to “Local Mail Exchanger”, and CPanel will use an email configured from within itself, but I use email through Office 365. I configured my CPanel to use “Remote Mail Exchanger” instead, and the forms started working right away. Every test form has been successfully received.

Cheers Duncan, yes that what the client did (Remote mail exchanger) but do I need to click on the USE GODADDY MAIL SCRIPT in the advanced section on the actions palette for PHP form thingy,

Dave

Sorry I’m not familiar with their script. I would assume that any PHP mail call script would be equivalent.

Sorry I meant to say that when I look at the PHP feedback form in the ACTIONS box in FREEWAY there is an advanced option and the first option is that USE GODADDY MAIL SCRIPT. I just wondered whether I even need to check that box - my client has already done the remote mail exchange in the GoDaddy site. Sorry for not being clear, Dave

BTW am checking out Coffeeclub as new replacement, interesting but will need a few months to familiarise

Hi Dave,
As the author of the PHP Feedback Form Action I can tell you that the option you refer to switches the code that gets output from the standard php form handler (that the Action creates) to a link to the, then, standard form handler found on GoDaddy shared Linux servers.

GoDaddy always used to handle form data using their own script (GDForm.php I seem to recall) but then switched to allow you to use your own. The option in the Action should be switched off unless you are running an old shared set up on GoDaddy that uses the old GDForm.php script.

You should also possibly check out Sparkle (Duncan’s web design application) at http://sparkle.cx http://sparkle.cx/ as I think it may be better suited to you than one of the HTML builders from CoffeeCup.
Regards,
Tim.

If you need a wellworking Web Form Builder, look at Coffeecups solution.
You do need a subscription though.
