I’m trying to match specific font type and can’t seem to find it, does anyone know what kind of font is on this graphic?

This isn’t Zapfino because it’s not a font (if you’re seeking a precise match). This looks to be commissioned caligraphy in which case the only way to match it is to find the hand what dun it…
Good luck

Thanks Peter,
Client is searching her memory to figure out how the business card was made, hopefully she will find something, or Zapfino it will have to be.

It’s called Scriptina. Google it. Think you’ll find it’s free as well
which is always good and it’s a lovely script font

The key difference, other than spacing of course, is the trimming of
the letter t so it doesn’t clash with the loop of the letter y. Try
setting it and editing it in Illustrator or Photoshop to make this
easy.

My Photoshop skills are very basic. I’m just guessing but I assume I should import that graphic into Photoshop and try to re-draw just the portion of the “t” that loops into the “y”. Would that have to be done freehand? I think it will be a project for a rainy day.

If you have Illustrator, I’d be more inclined to type the letters in,
outline the font and then amend the Illustrator file rather than in
Photoshop. This way you have a scaleable, bezier version which can be
used for artwork at varying sizes.

Trevor’s suggestion of doing it in Illustrator so you have a scalable
vector graphic at the end is a good one. But either way, you won’t be
redrawing anything, just erasing that part of the letter t. Set the
word but leave off the letter y, render it into a bit map and erase
the unwanted portion of the t shape, then make a new text layer with
the rest of the characters and position that as appropriate.
If you did it in Illustrator you’d need to take the same basic
approach: set the text, convert to outlines, slice off the ‘spare’
part of the letter t, tweak the end as required, then assemble the
full thing and save.

Rich,
I could reproduce it near perfect for you if you haven’t got Illustrator. It would give me something to do as work have gone very quiet
How are you doing the rest of the card? And what’s an Esthetician anyway?
email if you need help,

Keith, What about redrawing the long horizontal stroke on the ‘t’? I’d do it all in Illustrator to get the exact letter weight and make the redrawing bit easier.

Good question! I didn’t know, but I do now… skin care therapist.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esthetician (redirects to the
Cosmetology page).

True, I was concentrating on the main difference. I thought I’d
mention the Photoshop option as the basic edit only needs a bit of
work with the eraser… but yep, Illustrator would be the best tool
for this. (Or FreeHand for those who have a working copy!)

For best results, the letters, when arranged, bitmapped and edited, should be combined into one compound path per word.
That way, casting shadows, coloring, layering etc. will be much quicker: only two objects.
Of course, versions of the master logo file should be kept for each major stage of the editing. Just in case you need to rearrange or rework.

Thanks for all of the info…
The font as is will do.
I also didn’t know what an Esthetician was until last week either.
