I’m struggling for hours now to try to understand what is wrong with this page viewed in Firefox 3.0.6 on a mac, of course: smilingresults.com
All other pages are doing fine. All pages are OK on IE and Safari. One page causes me trouble on Firefox.
I have removed the master, no prob. I have re-added it: same problem. I have resized a couple of items, same problem. And only this page and only on Firefox.

The page title “How to boost your efficiency at work and enjoy Monday mornings” has disappeared on this page only, running Firefox mac and PC. All other block titles on the right have been moved down.
All other pages using the same master are OK.
Safari and IE don’t show up anything wrong. Thanks for helping.
empty the Firefox cache and close Firefox before viewing the site again
in Freeway, resample and update all images
copy the content of the page exclusive of the banner or any Master resident items, delete everything in the page (content and master items), reapply the Master and paste the content back in
upload
open Firefox and reload the page (just to be extra cautious)
Empting the cache didn’t change anything, but I did rebuild a new page, and copied the items step-by-step checking the update at each step, than added as you said the master and… boom it worked.
Next time I know what to do. Understanding what happened is not essential : D
Nick… my guess is you altered some master feature of the page, thereby breaking the master/page relationship. I set up my master pages with predetermined html boxes for adding all content (images, tables, forms, html, etc.) Even so, once in a while I forget I am working in the content page and make a change to a master item. And there goes the relationship.

If this is done to an object then all you need to do to reinstate the
connection is re-check the Use Master Settings or the Use Master
Content checkboxes in the Inspector palette. Easiest relationship
counselling ever!
It is only page-level parameters that can’t be restored like this.
Keith… how about a brief explanation of master content versus master settings? I’ve read the instructions on them but am still a bit confused as to when to use one or the other… or both.

Of course.
Content is whatever an object contains; text or image.
Settings are to do with the object itself; width, height, position,
border, extended attributes… anything that’s not content, basically.
Your master object might have some text in it or an image; relinking
master content (by clicking the Use Master Content checkbox) will
replace whatever content is in your object with the original master
content.
If you change anything other than the content of an item that is from
a master page object then that will break the Master Settings
connection. Relinking this will restore the item to however the
master page item is set up.
