Hi
I received the email from Softpress about the update to 7 and followed the link to look at the templates (which I never usually use) on their Esperanto template there is a floating navigation menu which stays visible all the time and expands with the window when you enlarge or reduce it.
HOW IS THIS DONE?
Thanks Dave. That has sorted out the problem of the fixed position. Any ideas on keeping it full width of the window. Also I have reduced the opacity to 50% but nothing is showing through.
At present I’m just experimenting with a test file.
OK. Sorted out the opacity problem, didn’t realise there was more than one opacity slider on the appearance tab. I was using the background slider and should have been using the general slider.
So now the only problem is getting the nag bar background to stay full width not matter how big you make the window
Here is a quick example showing one way of doing this with 2 items - Header and Nav (Nav is an inline element of Header) ie click inside Header until you get a flashing cursor then Insert>Html Item
Hi Walt
Thanks for your help. I’m getting there. It’s frustrating that when when you alter a setting on something else on the page it undoes the expanding menu - or maybe I’m just doing something daft.
Here is where I’m at http://www.creativeline.co.uk/float/
Please note that this is just a test layout not a real design (would hate to be judged on it).
Can I get the coloured panels to centre on the page with undoing the expanding menu?
Richard
I love what you’ve done - how did you achieve that
