[Pro] Font Choices

When you place text in a graphic box
and upload the site, is the text now
a graphic item?
I ask that because I’d like to know
weather I should stay with the four
or five standard fonts for websites.

thanks,
bob

There’s no reason to do this, unless you prefer the look of those fonts. You may use any font installed on your Mac (that Freeway recognizes*) to make graphic text.

But there’s also a strong reason to not use graphic text unless you simply cannot avoid it (logos, perhaps). Google cannot read images and extract text, and if you use the Alt attribute to place the text that the image contains into the machine-readable part of the page source, it won’t rank that text as highly as it would native HTML text in a normal text container.

*There are some fonts that are simply not accessible in Freeway, either because of their format or internal damage. Freeway is very fussy about fonts.
