[Pro] Formatting/styling a LinkToPDF Action Item

Or, more properly, not being able to do it. Can’t give a URL because I’m getting ready to replace the relevant page with a workaround. The basic problem, which I’d still like to solve, was that when I added a Link to PDF Item (using the cog wheel tool) I was absolutely unable to Style, or format, the text.

Created several different graphic styles, and applied them in turn using the Style Palette. None worked. All I ever got was the text styled in what I think was my document display default. Looked at what I think are the relevant sections on the action in the Big Manual, and didn’t see anything about styling the item.

Any hints would be appreciated!

If you place the Action item as an inline item, in a run of HTML text,
for example, the Action text will adopt the formatting from the HTML
styles.

Hope that helps.

(It was in the manual - probably need to look for it under “inline
items” or similar.)

It’s also helpful to put a space character before and after the inline
Action item. That helps to make an unbroken style. Type [space] insert
Action item [space] and then select the whole space-sandwich and apply
your desired style.

Thanks to you both. Using an inline item was my workaround! Now visible at http://luckypro.biz/client/walter/v704/artist/bartwalterartistsbio.html.

Great minds think a like, eh?

Just for the record, I’d still be interested in hearing from anyone with thoughts on styling the graphic LinkTo item.
