[Pro] Forms to Go Security Question implementation

Hi, I’m trying to get the Forms to Go security question working. Everything seems to be setup as per the one video instruction on YouTube and the base Forms to Go form created using Dan Jasker’s excellent instructions at Bebo Soft.com.
I put an html field, or Insert html markup with the Forms to Go script:

I don’t see the security question in Preview or when viewed in various browser on my local computer. The website is not yet hosted… should it show the security question? or does it need to be live/hosted?
Any suggestions or complete work through instructions would be most appreciated! It always seems to be one step or something missing in instructions that trips me up.
Thanks - Lewis

This isn’t going to work locally.

You need to create a folder on the server called sqcdirectory with full write access.

Besides if you have created a php script to process the form it isn’t going to work on your Mac (unless you are using MAMP or similar)

Hi DeltaDave - thank you!
You’d think software makers would include important information like this in their instructions. Only one sentence would have saved me a whole bunch of time. - “This isn’t going to work locally.” - All I ask for if someone makes software, or an action, that they document how to utilize it, and not leave out steps or important information!

The video does say to upload it to your server.

Any particular reason for using FTG.

What sort of security do you need as the PHP Feedback Form action does have anti-spam protection built into it.

The video does discuss uploading to the server, but neglects to mention that you’d not be able to preview any action locally - you cannot even see the security question item/field.

I thought FTG would be easier, more flexible/powerful and liked some of the options like the security question and captcha.

Always open to easier, better ways of doing things, though.

The PHPFF action requires no external files or apps - whats easier than that.

Besides once you have created one form it is portable and can be copy/pasted to another page or document and reused with only minor alts.

Visit Tim’s page at http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=019 and download the example.

I’ve used FTG for years and recommend it. For people who need to step
outside of the bubble of comfort Freeway creates, it’s really a small step.
We learn from experience, and sometimes from a little frustration.
