[Pro] Freeze Form Item

I’m trying to get all my form fields to line up, so I used Freeze Form Field but it doesn’t seem to work on Text Area fields.

It’s a table in a box (CSS).

Am I missing something?

I forgot. I took it off that version.

Or…maybe it’s on. Been a frustrating morning…

As far as I know, this Action works on all form elements except
checkboxes and radio buttons. Everything else is fair game for
resizing through CSS.

Not sure about Freeze Form

Have you tried Form Element CSS which has similar properties Form Element CSS

Actually I have Form Element Styler and I’m using that. That seems to be working, but I have to upload yet.

Is Form Element CSS any better to use? It looks similar to Element Styler.

Similar, but the same? - who knows unless you examine the CSS output.

FreezeForm limits its effect to dimensions only. My issue with the
other form styler actions is that they allow you to turn a form field
into something that doesn’t look at all like a form field. Usability
is compromised on the altar of design style. A very very bad trade-
off, in my opinion.

Well. I’m just using Form Element Styler for the size problem I’m having. Not really using any of the other features.

I recommend Form Element CSS over Form Element Styler purely on the principle of using padding within your form elements. It gives a much more modern look to them and plus the options are a ton easier to work with then having to go through really limited drop-down menu’s.

Combine that with Freeze Form item and you can create some truly clean and professional forms on your site.

I toss in a big vote for Form Element CSS.

Can you fix the width with Form Element CSS?

Freeze Form Item is just not working for me on this form, so I went with Form Element styler just for the fixed field widths.

Freeze Form Item is just not working for me on this form

Have you tried doing it this way

Drag a guide onto the page to align with LH of form element

Drag another to correspond with RH

Draw/position your form elements within the guides.

Check Width and Height to draw the elements as they are on screen.

Where I can see coming unstuck is if you have the form elements within a table.

Then I would use the Force Width option.

Check/Tick Width and Height

I mean in the action palette

Yeah, they’re in a table. Tried Force Width and put in a width, but they still don;t line up.

Although, I think I only used Force Width on the Text Areas hoping they would line up with the Text Fields (which all seem to line up OK. Maybe I should force width on both.

I know that I apply the Freeze Form action to every form element I have on my site regardless if it’s a text-field or text-area. It just makes things easier.
