I have been uploading my files to two different servers I have for several months. Just recently I cannot connect to either server. I get this message “Cannot change directory because of an FTP error. [550 Can’t change directory_: No such file or directory]”
I have tried to clear all upload information and re-enter it but when I check the Document info: under server it shows public html which is wrong
My back up copy on an external drive shows the correct info to one of my servers.
I then cleared all upload information in document setup saved it then quit the program, then reopened to check Document. Upload info was blank. I reentered the upload info. The upload failed again. I checked the FTP log in the console and could see the fault but I do not know how to mess with the console.
I have used Fetch to check the server address information is correct. I can access both servers with no problems.
This leads me to believe it is a Freeway problem of which I do not know how to solve.
I have in the past toggled the passive option and was able to upload.
I have uploaded my files successfully using Transit using the exact same setting details as I use in Freeway. The concern I have is using the same setting details in the Freeway upload I keep getting the 550 error message. After several months uploading using Freeway’s upload system which worked flawlessly all of a sudden I can’t get it to work. This is my concern and I am looking for the solution to fix this problem.
Check your upload information specifically the location (folder/directory) you are uploading to.
For example if your public folder on the server is called “public_html”, and in your directory details in the FTP box have “public” you would get this error.

After successfully using Freeway’s builtin FTP client for many years I’m suddenly getting this problem with all the hosting sites I use. After prolonged investigation they all say the problem must be with Freeway. Are they correct?
