Hello. When I get a new action I always keep them in a folder and when I upgrade, I reinstall all of them, just in case. I dont have the 6 yet, so I dont know if this advice would work…
The Actions you’ve mentioned should be installed by default in Freeway 6. When you first ran Freeway 6 it should have copied any third party Actions from your old Actions folder to the one Freeway 6 uses. Check under Edit > Actions and see if you can see these Actions listed there and if, for any reason, they have been deactivated.
The Black Label site looks good and you’ve some amazing content on there. For such a simple site layout I’d be inclined to look at creating a flexible layout that would flex depending on the width of the browser. That way the recent work page (for example) would collapse to single column of videos rather than sticking to the existing five column layout making it easier to use on a range of devices from desktop to mobile.
One thing I would strongly encourage you to do is to change the graphic test to HTML. Search engines are pretty much blind to all of this content at the moment and converting it over will benefit the site’s SEO rankings as well as allow users to copy valuable information (addresses, phone numbers etc) directly from the site.
Regards,
Tim.
Hi Tez,
Freeway will load Actions from a number of places. Most of them (although not all of them) are listed on the Action installation guide on the Freeway Actions site; http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=install
In Freeway 6 Actions are stored in a slightly different location than previously. Note that the old “Freeway 5” name has been changed to “Freeway Pro”.
/Users/(user name)/Library/Application Support/Freeway Pro/Actions/ ← user library
or
/Library/Application Support/Freeway Pro/Actions/ ← root library
Actions that ship with the application (the core set) can be found with the application package itself. Don’t go messing in here unless you know what you are doing and certainly don’t install any Actions in the application unless you want to lose them when you next upgrade the app.
Lastly if you’ve used an Action in a document that Freeway can’t locate anymore it will use a cached version of the Action that it has tucked away within the Freeway file itself. The majority of Actions that are cached like this will work perfectly well (some, however, will not) and can be seen in the Edit > Actions dialog listed at the top of the list in bold.
Looking back at this email it appears this maybe far too much information for you (especially if you are still new to Freeway) so apologies if you now need a lie down in a dark room.
Regards,
Tim.
