[Pro] FW pro5.5 and Showcase Gallery

Now I know I’m probably doing something really stupid here, but here goes.
I’ve downloaded the demo of 5.5 and very impressed so far. I’ve put a gallery together of 20 pics in Showcase and got it looking right in Freeway.
When I publish it, the thumbs look fine but the large images open up in a new window which replace the ‘gallery’ page and I have to hit the back button to get back to the image page.
What I would like is for them to open up in a new window on top of the existing page, or better still, as the documentation says"the page background dims and the large image of that thumbnail appears in the browser."
This doesn’t seem to happen for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Trev,

The only way I can get this to happen is by turning JavaScript off. If you have JavaScript on in the browser you’re trying can you let me know what browser and version you’re using and what OS version please. Also, can you either send me the Freeway file, or upload it and send me the link.

Many thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe, yes Javascript is enabled and I’m using Safari v5.01 on OS X
10.5.8.
I’ve been previewing it locally only, so I’m uploading it now to see
if that makes any difference. I’ll be in touch later.

Thanks
Trev

I am having the same problem. The output looks fine when I preview it on my machine, and the large images show up as slides. But when I upload, what I get online is completely different. See http://pjpolley.com/Series/ilritorno.html

Are you using FW’s upload facility for this?

If not I suspect that there some files missing from your manual upload.

OK, I found that one .js file had not been uploaded. This makes the page work almost correctly - the controls are supposed to be visible but are not.

look for the missing controls.png file

Or controlsb.png

But if you let FW upload for you then you wouldn’t have these problems.

That did it. I have been hesitant to use FW upload because I have had some issues in th epast with uploads, so I have tried to minimize the data. But pernhaps it is time to do it.

Thanks very much for your help.

I let FW upload for me - but it still opens up in a new window.

I have noticed that the .js files are being published into the resources folder rather than a js folder - is this correct?

It works locally within FW, and online in Safari & Chrome, but not in IE9 on a PC

(PC & IE = Bane of my life)
