[Pro] FW slow to respond

Hello
I am having problems with FW when adding more than 6 or so hyperlinks on a page. It takes several minutes to add them and save or preview. When published some of them work in Safari but not in FireFox or Chrome. I am using the latest edition of FW with Snow Leopard.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
J

First I’ve ever heard of this kind of thing. I’ve built sites in Freeway with hundreds of links per page, and many thousands in the site. How are you creating these links? Are they from page to page within the document, or to external sources? Are all of them correct (responsive) and do you have a working internet connection? I don’t believe that Freeway checks links on the fly, only when you ask it to with a menu command, so that last part may not even be important to know here. The only thing that occurs to me is that the links per se are not your problem.

Hello Walter
Think I have solved the problem - I have been receiving the info for the links via email and copying and pasting direct from the body of the mail - I think this was the cause.

I have now removed all styling in FW first and then re-styled afresh.

I normally save the info into a plain text doc so this hasn’t happened before and it threw me.
Anyway - thanks for your time!
Best regards
John

This is the recommended method for bringing in any text from external sources. Word is particularly bad at bringing along excess baggage.

Running it through a plain text editor first strips off any hidden code/styling that can upset FW.
