[Pro] FW7, In-line layout & RPLs

I’ve designed Durangoing.com entirely inline (I think, unless I did something wrong!), but I’m still experiencing occasional overlapping text issues if you zoom in the browser.

I’ve NOT applied the RPL action to try to fix this. I didn’t think it was necessary using FW7 & inline construction. Am I missing something?

Specifically, on my home page, the line I have at the bottom of the header will overlap, as will my footer if you zoom very large.

Everything on the page is inside a “pagewrapper” set with a flexible height. But, when I click on the pagewrapper container, it is just a very narrow rectangle at the top of the page. It doesn’t appear to have anything “in” it, however on the page inspection panel, it shows that everything constructed on that page is inside the pagewrapper container. I hope this makes sense. It’s hard to explain without seeing my FW document. Would it be better if I assigned a height to this wrapper? That seemed to not work as well with the responsive features of FW7.

Thanks!

Doty

Can you describe your construction method ie did you click inside your page until you got a cursor and then use Insert>html item?

Or did you ‘draw’ your html items inside/on top of others.

I had a quick look at your ode and it looks like the majority of your items use the second method and this results in Absolutely positioned children. When you select one of these items do you get the option to set floats and clears?

What you really want is Relatively positioned children and you get them using the Insert>Html Item method. Then you get the option to set Floats and Clears to ensure that everything moves in relation to each other.

Ahhh… David, I forgot that very important bit! I was looking all over for my float and clear options and I couldn’t find them. Now I know why. Dang… I’d need to start all over! At least I know what I did wrong.
