[Pro] FWP Suggestion - Updating the icon

I’m sure this has been mentioned before, but when Softpress releases a new version of FWP, it would be helpful to include a slightly different version of the FWP icon so users can differentiate (visually), which app is which. A simple number next to the “f” logo would be fine.

Freeway has changed logos a few times, but not once per major version, unfortunately. I was honored to design one back when Aqua was all the rage, and it was a 3D glass globe with specular highlights and internal glow, all done in Illustrator in vector, so it could be blown up to any size. I was very proud. The current one is much flatter, but not all the way back to the original for Freeway 1 and 2, which I still think was a spectacular job all around. Perfect typography, and a perfect sign-yellow color that managed to look great on the nasty screens of yore. Maybe SP should go “back to the future” in this new age of flat icons and stripped back iconography.

While I love all things logo, I’d prefer that Softpress not waste any more resources on anything that doesn’t involve modernizing or improving the Freeway application. They should all leave the table, go up to their rooms and not come back down until it’s finished.

With that said, I have my own version 7 logo that I made-- not for aesthetics, but to combat my own version confusion. I’ve made it available for anyone else who is interested or in need of something completely different.
