[Pro] Google and https

Hi,

Since Google recently announced sites with https will have the preference over non-https and will appear higher in the rankings soon, is there anything I need to do with my FW websites?

I know I need to ask my hoster to install a certificate, but what about FW? I can imagine if the prefix is http, I need to change this to https, but what do I need to do if it is php as almost all my websites all use WebYep?

Please advise.

For one thing, Resources and embedded media will need to use an absolute path, whether it’s Freeway or an RTE.

Also, make sure your SSL cert. does not use SHA-1 encryption which is being phased out.

So if I inderstand correctly absolute paths and no sha-1 encryption. Anything else I need to take into account? Will my pages with .php continue working?

I see no reason why they wouldn’t.
