[Pro] Google Maps API key

Yes, but inside an inline box, so it will still flow.

I will post a link to the page I have done it on once the site is up and running, either today or tomorrow.

Yes, thanks Simon. I used Joe’s tips to get it to work in Firefox, but it didn’t work in Safari.

I have uploaded the new site now with the Google Map working fine here:
http://www.sj-creative.co.uk/contact.html

Hopefully you can take a look at the source code and it might help in working out your own.

Hi Simon

First thing - that page is weird - the map took ages to load and even after that the progress wheel continues to spin (in Safari)

There is also a JS error from your widget

TypeError: ‘undefined’ is not a function (evaluating ‘w.decay()’)

Do you have to use formmail - it is notoriously easy to hack?

In your form fields you have given these fields a value of name, email, telephone etc but all that means is that clicking the submit button just sends through those values without your visitor having to type anything.

Instead use Item>Extended on the field and in the Input section create a new name value pair of placeholder/whatever text you want to show. Example at http://www.deltadesign.co/formtest.html

I concur. It took almost 2 minutes to load the map in Safari.

Thanks David and Raven,

The map was loading fine earlier today, but it has massively slowed down now. I’ll look in to that tomorrow.

Thanks for the other comments too David, I’ll sort them out tomorrow too

Hi David and Raven,

Made a slight tween to the API settings on google, is it any quicker now?

Much faster and no JS error.

Thanks Dave,

I had both the API v2 and v3 running, so I turned off v3 on the google panel and all seems good now.

The only errors I am getting are web font related, but they are in the place that the errors say they can’t find them, so I’ll have to investigate that further.
