[Pro] Grainy Images upon upload

I have built an iphone mobile site, using a freeway template, and am having problems with the quality of the graphics. They look great in Freeway but once uploaded, they look grainy and unfocused. I have played around with quality % of jpegs, I have changed file formats and even fonts created as graphics in Freeway look grainy and unfocused.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
TS

How was the the original header graphic created/imported and what anti-alias settings have you used on your text?

Did you set a background colour for your page.

No background color set. Anti-Alias check box is ticked for graphic items and set to auto for html items. My graphic designer built the logo in, I’m assuming photoshop. I have imported the graphics by drag and drop as well as import and I get the same result.

Have you tried setting the page background to white and then set the anti-alias for the text etc as well.

So is it a jpeg or a gif or a psd? If a jpeg then unless you import as a pass-through then you are jpegging a jpeg - which will lead to loss of quality.

Best to import a psd (or a tiff) and let FW only compress once or resize/scale in PS and import as pass-through.

But I suspect that your text quality issue is anti-alias related.

Also if you look at my page http://www.deltadesign.co/examples/stark.html and compare it to yours you will see that your logo has been dispro’d (disproportionally scaled). There is something about your page that is causing this squashed effect.

Try a new blank page with just the image on it.

Also I think you would get a better quality image if you output as a gif from a lossless Photoshop/Illustrator format.
