[Pro] Help with pop up Please?

Hi,
I know this will be very simple for most of you but im not sure where to start?

All I want to do is add a few small images on a page, and when you click on 1 of the images it enlarges in a pop up that can then be closed to leave the original page. any ideas?

Hi Dave, Thanks for your help. Looking at the last example this will do the trick just fine. I will have a go at that.

P.S just curious. is it possible to add a window at first start up?
what I mean is that when someone opens the webpage they are greeted with a (important message) that sits in front of the main page that they can then close. The sort of thing I mean is similar to the annoying (congratulations you have just won) messages you see!
