I have received a file with the necessary fonts. Where do I place those fonts so that they are accessible by the website I’m designing? I have tried putting them into my print font collection without success. I therefore can’t see the fonts in the “edit styles” window. I’ve placed the files in the website folder and tried adding "font-famile: “name_of_font” but when I go to view source in Safari I see its chosen my alternative source instead of the specified… I’m obviously doing something wrong so any help (Step by step guide) would be extremely helpful.
Thanking everyone in advance,
Alex
When viewing in the alternative font “Arial” in this case I found that things got messed up… text overlapped the footer etc.
I can upload the work in progress site if that helps someone by looking at the source.
This works nice as long as you have either a .ttf or .otf file as the basic Font format. If not ask your client to send you one.
Hope this helps you for a starting point. Ohh and if you haven’t got the latest copy of FW I recommend to install it. Older versions struggled sometimes in proper detecting yet installed ones.
Looked at the step by step. The problem is that the web fonts I purchased cannot be installed on my system (Font book etc) but only on the server where the site will be hosted due to licensing.
So I’m not able to preview my design until its on the server I guess?
Since the font I want to use cannot be found in the drop down menu in Freeway or the Web Fonts action how do I go about using this font?
I’m trying to get the text to be of the font PFDinDisplayPro but I’m getting Arial instead.
I have uploaded the fonts given to me by the font company. They are on the server in the main folder. I’ve used the extended tab in the styles manager for H1, H2 etc…
Hope someone can help… this is all very new and VERY frustrating to me.
Basically I get 404 errors regarding the font files (missing). Try to point absolute to those missing files instead of relative such as http://www.advocati.gr/fonts/pfdindisplaypro-boldweb.ttf
which then should be step one. The next I recognized is that you defined your @font-face family with Arial and not with the desired one.
