i would like to place a favicom in my site (the little icon that appears to the left of most URL’s in any browser) but have no clue as to how to do it. is it possible with FW?

Favicons (short for favourite icon, referring to bookmarked or
‘favourite’ pages) can be set fairly easily. Tim has an action at
http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=005 that will make it an
absolute doddle, and there’s some info on creating favicons there as
well.

just one more question: i assume the favicon must be applied to all pages not just the index page, right? thanks.

Right. Add it to a Master page and it will publish on all pages using
that Master.

Strictly speaking no - once the favicon.ico is on your server then all pages should display it in the address bar.
