I found a website that allows me to create a contact page through the templates provided. I downloaded the file and was able to import into Freeway Pro. My problem is how to get the form to send the information to an email address? I am not any kind of code expert but I would really like some help on how to achieve this.
You could use the template you have but you will then need to set Page>Form Setup to point your form at a processing script. The action described in that thread does all that for you.
The template you have used is also missing components like the Calendar implementation for the date fields. These are all things that can be done in FW.
Where did that template come from as I suspect that you will need other elements that you have not included if you want to use it.
Just to add to my previous reply after looking at the site where you created the form http://www.phpform.org/
It would appear that this site helps you to create the html for the form for free but directs you to another site which then charges you $$ to actually create the form processor.
With the PHP Feedback Form action you can do all of this within FW.
Thank you. I will look into it. And yes, I forgot to mention that the calender doesnt work. Lets see how well I can understand the link you have provided.
Ok I copied and passed the form you created but its not working. The calendar doesn’t work. Every time I try to upload the site, it says that the RESOURCES associated with the file (contact form) cannot be found.
I apologize for not responding. I got so busy with life on my end that I had to put this design site on hold for a bit. Then we got hit with hurricane Sandy followed by a Northeast snow storm. And do get me started about gas shortage here. NYC is a nightmare.
Anyways, back to my issue with the calendar view. I downloaded the acton and put it in my actions folder. When I launch Freeway Pro, it doesnt show up in ITEMS>ACTIONS. So it seems like the software is not seeing it. Not sure what more I can do from this point.
I downloaded the acton and put it in my actions folder.
The easiest way to install any action is to drag the action file over your FW icon in the Dock - this will launch FW and install the action. Is that what you did?
If not try it again - if the action is already installed you will get a message.
From the ActionsForge site
“Apply this Action to a text field to make an easy popup calendar for choosing dates”
So you will need to select your text field first - and it has to be a form text field - not just an html box.
Thank you. The calendar works like a charm! My only problem now is that the form does nothing. When I test it with my own personal email as the recipient, nothing happens. I get no success page (which I set up and have it selected in the actions palette) and I get no email inquiry that I filled out.
Sorry to reply so late. I didnt know that the action cant work without the error page AND success page. I had only a success page set up. Anyways I created the error page and uploaded everything. I gave it a test and it now works perfectly. Thanks for all your efforts. I could not have done this without your knowledge.
