I want to use a mouseover on html text as a trigger to show/hide a layer with a graphic image in it. I thought it was just a matter of selecting the text in the html item and applying an action to it, but I’m not finding an appropriate action available when I go to either Item >> Actions…, or through the “+” at the bottom right of the Actions window.
I swear I did this just a couple days ago. Am I missing something obvious?
You can’t apply Actions directly to text, but many Actions provide an inline form of themselves which will create the text and link in one step. In your case, use the Text Rollover Action as an inline element. With your text cursor flashing in the spot where you want the link to appear, choose Insert > Action > Text Rollover from the main menu. You will see a little box appear in the line of text. Click once on it, and look in your Actions palette. You will see a text field in the interface where you can add the link text as well as set the rollover color and number that you want to affect.
