Why? Why not just make the text boxes taller to accommodate all the text?

Because I didn’t like that look . . . I didn’t want people clicking around from page to page or long text blocks hitting them in the face. I was hoping to be able to set it up how I liked it rather than some easy-out which looks cumbersome in my opinion. . . It looks exactly as I wanted it on my computer and was hoping to keep it that way… was just wondering if someone else who may be better than myself at this had any knowledge, but perhaps this is beyond the scope here

When Am I Too Old For Massage?

When I don’t reach the rooms cause there are three big stairs, but no handrail or even ramp I could use.

Sometimes design is not a question of complacency, it’s more about the audience expected to reach. And it’s about information - to share, not to hide.

People, no matter how old are used to click, but not always to hover, click, keep clicking and then dragging without screwing up things (or the fear to do).

The a-Tag (which is a link) is the most important concept in web. So they are used to understand, that columns on the start-page are excerpts with the read more button included (if they are mouth-watered).

Why? 150 years of practice in any kind of newspaper.

wow! and here i thought people actually knew how to scroll and would rather do that than jump from page to page if they decided to read on!. . . guess i give them more credit than they’re due!

after scanning around the web, it seems iPads/iphones simply don’t get along well with iframes.

so it’s okay that none of us know how to do this!

… people are used to scroll - and mobile devices share scrolling. It’s just hard to sell the scrolling area within the area that already scrolls.

Just define the content box with a defined height and set overflow hidden and it will work.

All I wanted to say that your concept is wrong - and I keep it up.

well, i don’t claim to be a web designer. . . it’s not how i make a living at all. . . now, if you have back pain or stiffness from hours on end at that computer, arthritis, spinal cord injury, etc. . . . i’m yer gal!! . . . i really just wanted it over with and the thought of redesigning and starting over made me want to put a rope around my neck and beg someone to kick the chair out from underneath me!!. . . that or drink heavily! but i appreciate your insight and all your help!

the thought of redesigning and starting over

The way I see it is that you simply increase the height of the three text boxes to accommodate some more text.

And if that isn’t enough then include the rest on another page. Personally I think there is enough text that

1 What Is Holistic Massage?

2 Relief For Common Ailments

3 When Am I Too Old For Massage?

Could each have their own pages.

But on iphone the footer is not being pushed down by the text boxes and that makes About and Services particularly difficult to read.

Have you tried making all items into layers and using the RPL action? That is an easy step you could try without building an inline layout.

Let’s try to clarify the reason why:

To reach the “scroll” of your text, you have to hover (mouse-over) the text-area - right? Then and only then you can grab (by click) the handle and drag them down or up. Preferably you’d use the mighty mouse gestures (if available).

So the entire event is based on hover. Now the secret:

Touch based devices do not really know “hover” - cause your finger is the mouse. Hover means then “starting the event app. 2cm above the glass (or even more)” which simply doesn’t exist (finger-hover: 0.5 inch !important) and even if it would:

Once you got the handle (god knows how) - you’d drag in 99% the entire page (not the text-section) which would end up in a mess - or broken function.

Your Pad luckily knows about this and simply turns it into a real event by just removing this lil bit of crap - to prevent users from having nothing. I think this is neat job of the devices.
