I have posted a site where one of six images on a page does not appear in its graphic box.
The image appears in the HTML page as a preview in the folder, but never on the actual, posted website. It even appears in the Browser Preview.
The site is posted on Godaddy, and I’ve replaced the page using the Godaddy software as well as using Transmit.
The image has been imported into the graphics box as a TIF, a JPG, a PNG, even as a PDF, but no love. None of the other images on that page - or on the entire website - have disappeared. I’ve made the image move “forward”, brought it to “front”, and tried moving it around a bit on the page, but the box (with or without a one-pixel border) still appears empty.
Am at a complete loss, so “Help”. The site is www.rlandisinteriors.com, and the image is on the “Publications” page under “About” on the upper right, next to the text that says Ehrlich Architects Monograph.
Any help would be most appreciated, and help me not look like an idiot to my client.
is there any reason using transmit or godaddy-software to bring this on the life-server?
Or other way round:
If the preview and the browser preview is giving you expected results, Freeway doing its job. In fact, the path to Resources/ehrlicharchitectsmonograph.png (the missing one) is broken for whatever reason.
So first thing to do:
Look into your Resources folder of your actual project from scratch and look if there is a file called ehrlicharchitectsmonograph.png (I expect it is).
Repeat this by looking into the Resources folder on your life-server. I bet it is not there.
I can’t tell you why this can happen, but leaving the upload process within Freeway is not the worst case.
Are you sure this file is being output as a PNG? The other covers on
the page (the ones that appear) seem to be in JPEG format. Try
outputting this cover in JPEG format (use the Output pane of the
Inspector while the image is selected on your page) and try that. I
wouldn’t put it past GoDaddy to have some server-side script running
that converts all PNGs to JPEG just so Windows users can see them.

You guys are great; problem fixed. I uploaded the missing image directly to the Resources folder and that was that.
This is what happens when someone knows just enough to be dangerous - user error - something I experience all the time as a photographer, but am learning to experience as a web designer.
Really appreciate the help - and if you ever have any photo-related questions, let me know.
