[Pro] Images Being "Messed Up" When Online

One of our sites suddenly went bonkers and all the art on the home page went out of whack.

All the art looked like they didn’t fit in there individual boxes properly. Don’t recall that happening before and the site looks fine in FW.

Any idea what would cause that?

Well, it’s already been reuploaded and fixed.

If it happens again, I’ll post a link.

A trifle difficult to diagnose without seeing screengrabs at least,
but this could be simply the result of the browser using old, cached
images to show a new layout. If an image has exactly the same name as
when a browser last visited the site it may use its locally cached
(remembered) version rather than downloading the new image from
scratch. However, if that image now is a difference size and shape on
the page then the old image that the browser has chosen to show
(trying to save you download time) will be stretched or squashed to
fit the new space.

Reload the page in the browser; that normally fixes it. Occasionally
you may have to quit and relaunch the browser. If you rename the
images in Freeway and reupload then cached images won’t be used. And
take heart in the fact that this virtually never affects normal
visitors - it is almost always only seen by people who visit
repeatedly during the design phase. Meaning you. And your clients,
unfortunately, but when they know to reload, reload, reload most
won’t be too freaked out.
