[Pro] Implementing GalleryView in FW5.4.1

Whew. Almost there, but not quite. I am trying to get FW to use the javascript for GalleryView, a jQuery plugin. I’ve done some javascipting, but only with a lot of help, and created my FW3.5.15 page entirely by hand, using the Page Markup function. This time, with my excellent new updated FW, I’d like to try to write as much of it “on the page” as possible, to make updating the page(s) easier.

But first, I need to get one example page right.

The example I’m recreating is at http://appleton.me/galleryview/.

I can write a page in TextWrangler and have it work, although the styling leaves a lot to be desired: http://luckypro.biz/client/walter/v4/01_portfolio/test_galleryview.html . So I’m pretty sure I’ve got the javascripts and other documents in place and ready to work.

But if you view source for the page I’ve munged so far in FW ( http://luckypro.biz/client/walter/v4/01_portfolio/port_01_new.html ) it’s a train wreck.

I can see that, at least, I’m not getting an unordered list. Before I drive myself even crazier, can someone suggest the baby steps I need to take to:

  1. Create Permanent Styles
  2. Apply them to text on a page to get something like the ul seen on http://appleton.me/galleryview/ ?

Whew. Or am I in over my head?

Looks like maybe I’m on my own with this? Galleryview gives the best all-in-one package I’ve seen so far:

Thumbnails, with captions, either automatic or preconstructed; caption text for main images, placement on page.

Perhaps you all could reommend a better gallery creator? One that integrates easily with Freeway?

Just in case anyone is following the long miserable saga, I’m making progress!
