[Pro] Importing excel

Hi all, I have 5 spread sheets that need to be updated every month and have been doing a copy/paste from Excel’s web page into a Go Live document for the past 6 years.

For my 71st birthday I treated myself to Freeway 7 for my new (to me) iMac and was wondering if a similar process will work with Freeway or if I should continue doing those 5 pages in Go Live on my old G4 Mac Mini. The kicker is that I need to preserve the table styles if at all possible.

Thoughts & Thanks

You can import information from an Excel document - albeit as a CSV - directly into a table in FW.

‘Draw’ your table on your FW page (numbers of rows and columns is not important at this stage).

Now set your cursor flashing in the first table cell.

File>Import Text and select your Excel file in the finder window (choose what format it is in ie Tab or Comma delimited) and then Click the Open button.

Now if you have styled your Table and not the individual text in the cells you should be fine but there doesn’t appear to be anything on your example page that couldn’t be applied as a universal style.

Subsequent imports should retain the styling but I haven’t really dabbled with this.
