I have a few sites hosted with ineedwebhosting all with google analytics provided by the google analytics action. I have noticed that hits from ‘pt-br’, which I assume to be Brazil, have rocketed lately with this now being the most listed region for nearly half the sites. I’m sure this isn’t ‘natural’ traffic and was wondering if anyone else has seen similar trends?
Had a look on mine (two different Hosting Services) - indeed Brazil’s hits increased. The Bounce Rate is extremely high (95-100%). But I think there is nothing you could do (or can we?)
I too have noticed an increase coming from some very sketchy-looking referring sites. I’ve also been seeing a lot of failed attempts at finding my CMS login page. Another reason to always change the name and/or path of the default CMS installation.
One interesting thing is that these sites have seen a general increase in ‘real’ traffic. Could the visits from our Brazilian friends actually be helping with google searches?
