[Pro] Inserting code

Hi everyone. I want to insert some ad code as per the following instructions:

Open your site’s main page (i.e. - template file, or header file) in an HTML editor.
Search for " <body " within the HTML and insert the Ad Code immediately after the close bracket of the body tag " > ".
Once done, make sure to Save the changes to your HTML.

How do I do this in FWP 5.5 (I don’t have an HTML editor)

Thanks

Jan

Page>HTML Markup and choose After from the picker down the bottom left.

Paste your code into that dialogue box. OK. GTG

Alternatively if you want this ad to appear in a specific place on your page try Insert>Markup Item and paste the code in there. Position the resulting box on your FW page where you want the ad to appear.

… while I tend to recommend the CrowBar action these days if the “to insert code” is case sensitive with that wrapping p-tag.

Seek http://actionsforge.com/ for it and have a look for:

DeltaDave, that worked, and apologies for the delay in thanking you for your help. Jan

One more thing… the ad works fine now, but it takes the viewer away from my site when they click it, whereas I want them to stay and for the ad’s destination to open in a new tab/window. The Spawn New Window action does not do it - the ad isn’t a simple URL but contains affiliate info similar to this -

So, how can I get it to open a new tab/window?

You will need tio change the inserted code to include target: _blank

Can you post all the code here that ytou have inserted - or post a link to the online page.

If you post it here then type 4 ~, then a new line, paste your code, new line, 4 ~. This will create

My code here

From what I can see the ad is being served with the link created already and so you have no control over the link to change it to open in a new window.

Unless there is a fancy JS method?

Affiliate Windows T & C may also disallow you to do this.

That’s a shame - anybody know a fancy JS method?

The Affiliate Windows T & C doesn’t say anything about the link opening in another window.

You could ask Affiliate Windows if there is an option to do this from their end.
