Every time I re-upload my site the browser messes it up something awful, reloading the page restores it but I never really see that on other web pages, why would it do that? I must be setting it up wrong.
You may be experiencing a cache error. When your browser views a page, it stores a local version of anything it can in order to speed up future visits. So your stylesheet may be sourced from a previous iteration, but the HTML is newer and different and doesn’t match. Rest assured, you (or anyone else who visits the site more than once an hour) are the only one who sees this. You can enable the developer tools in Safari (Preferences/Advanced tab/Enable Develop menu) and then you will have Develop/Empty Caches in the main menu. Alternatively, you can hold down the Shift key and press the Reload button (curly arrow). This does a super-mega-refresh, ignoring all cached files.

When you get the chance, take a look at A Small Orange. I’ve worked with them in the past, and they have good servers and top notch support. They are who I refer my clients to.

Have you ever installed a thing called CloudFlare?
I installed that and discovered a thing in the advanced settings called ‘Rocket loader’. It’s supposed to make web pages load quicker, but I noticed a warning saying, that if items got scattered all over the place after this was initiated, to switch it off.
I use CloudFlare on three of my sites, and I like it a lot. They are also a great tinfoil hat against DDOS attacks, if you tend to attract those. Never tried the rocket loader, though.

I also use CF (free) but I haven’t used Rocket Loader either. Isn’t that a premium service?

Thanks for your responses Walter & Todd. I only mentioned it in case Louise had that switched on. It may also be that GoDaddy have that built-in to their site as well and it may not be able to be switched off.
I also use CF (free) and the ‘Rocket Loader’ was also a free option. Only because it was free (I’m a Fifer did I try it. The first time I encountered the same kind of problem that Louise described, I was puzzling for ages about what I could have done wrong - then I remembered the subtle warning, went and switched rocket loader off and the items all went back in to place.
Of course - it may be absolutely nothing to do with this, just thought I would mention it in case.
Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions yo guys. I’ll check to make sure I have RL disabled (that is, after I find it). For now, my self learned workarounds seem to have worked and everything is quiet on the frontlines.
