[Pro] is this possible.. (timely reply needed)

Hi,

this is about printing actions.

I would like my students to click a link and up comes a .pdf so they can print.

Is there an action for printing like this to make this quicker?

If not, I guess I would do the normal… use action to bring up .pdf and they just print in whatever thing (adobe or browser) that they normally would.

THanks,

barry

You can create a java script link to print a page. Not sure if that is exactly what you are after.

Create your link, ie, “Print this Page” and then apply a hyper link like you normally would…select java script and type, “window.print()” (no quotes)

rich,

do you know if it will also open the .pdf and not print the actual web page?

It will not. I am not sure if there is a setting in Acrobat to create an “auto-print” PDF, but that’s where you’re going to have to look. No amount of scripting in the Web page will do what you’re after.

Walt, ever hear of this BROWSE button from external hyperlink being suddenly grayed out?

i really believe I did this 2 days ago and now nothing.

simple… it is on a master page and is a regular graphic box. Just will not let me external link to pdf which it did the other day.

it will let me go to the non master pages and apply it so maybe I have to do that.

aahhh, but then when I put it on individually on the pages it removes the “use master setting.”

I knew I did not do it like this the other day.

I am not sure I fixed the problem truly, but it now works the way I need.

Thanks for reading.
