[Pro] Knowledge Base unavailable - Mal's E-commerce?

Hey Everyone,

I want to integrate Mal’s with my site that previously only used PayPal, so I can offer discount coupons etc.

When I try to access the Knowledge Base, my browsers won’t connect to it. This is by clicking on a link from a web search. Have tried with three browsers.

Does anyone know how to access the KB? Is it gone?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the KB is gone.

Hi Todd,

The news gets sadder by the moment. I wonder if they might make all that knowledge available somewhere, or let us pay to access it or something. It’s hard to say goodbye. :frowning:

Walter recently started a “FreewayTalk” Google Group as a backup for when this list finally comes down. Search FWT for the sign-up link which he posted a few days ago. It should be easy to find.

It won’t be a substitute for the SP KB, nor will the FWT content be migrated to the new list but it’s an option going forward.

Todd, and anyone else who may be wondering: in another thread James Wages posted this link to the KB. He said possibly hackers got to the original.

Thanks again to folks at Freeway Talk. Amazing community.

Thanks again, Todd. The Google Group sounds like a good idea!

I just posted this to another thread. It may help until I can find a more permanent home for this information;

—snip—
When Softpress announced that they were shutting down I sent Site Sucker (SiteSucker for macOS http://ricks-apps.com/osx/sitesucker/index.html <SiteSucker for macOS http://ricks-apps.com/osx/sitesucker/index.html>) to work downloading a copy of the main site, the knowledge base, market place and the Freeway Talk forum itself.

I was hoping to talk to Joe or someone at Softpress to see if they minded me putting this back online for the Freeway community but seeing we’ve now lost the KB I’ve taken the liberty of placing the flattened version of the site on DropBox at;
http://softpress-kb.freewaystyle.com http://softpress-kb.freewaystyle.com/ <http://softpress-kb.freewaystyle.com/ http://softpress-kb.freewaystyle.com/>
or
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795566/softpress/kb/index.html https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795566/softpress/kb/index.html <https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795566/softpress/kb/index.html https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795566/softpress/kb/index.html>

Joe, if you are reading this maybe you can get in touch when you have a second?

As the message on the home page says the site is pretty much a faithful ’scrape’ of the KB from the week of 4th July 2016 (ish) although you can expect to find broken links out of the KB to other parts of the old Softpress site as well as a broken search facility. When I get time I’ll see if I can clean this up and reinstate the search facility as well as get the other parts of the Softpress site up and running.

If I need to move the site or remap it to another domain then I’ll repost here or over in the new Google Groups forum (Redirecting to Google Groups https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/freewaytalk<Redirecting to Google Groups https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/freewaytalk>).

If you are reading this and want to send me a cease and desist letter then feel free to email me and I’ll take your content down.
Regards,
Tim.
