Dear Forum. If we have a single layer, we can import a graphic using Command-E. Then we can resize it using Control-Point + Scale and Pad/Scale and Trim/Scale. Let’s call this Operation Fit.
Now I have a stack of layers from my Master page. I can import a graphic to each by selecting the layer and using Command + E. But can I do Operation Fit while leaving the layer in situ? At present I have two rather cumbersome techniques. (1) Select the layer and nudge it sideways out of the stack, perform Operation Fit on the exposed part and nudge it back or (2) Use Arrange to bring it to the front (easy), perform Operation Fit, and then use Arrange to put it back in its previous position (tedious).
I’d save a lot of time if I could do this easily. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul
You can select any item in your ‘stack’ by using the FW site/page panel in page mode ie each item on the page is listed in the site pane. You can then select them and perform your operation without moving them.
This is made so much easier if you have named them logically first - for easy identification.
I understand about the site panel David. However, my Operation Fit involves placing the cursor on the image. In a layer stack, it seems to finish up on the top image rather than the selected one … Paul
