[Pro] Lightbox 3 and sub menus

I spoke a little too soon! When a page uses ScriptyLightbox3 and CSS menus, the submenus do not work on iphone or ipad. It is only the “sub” menus. I had the same issue with the previous version of FW and FW6 and lightbox 2. Some sort of conflict.

Any ideas?

Doe the CSS Menus wok when you remove the lightbox elements? (Just cut them to another page temporarily, re-publish, see if you can narrow this down. I am not sure what could be causing the problem between these two. I certainly don’t see any JavaScript errors, and CSS Menus do not use JavaScript at all, except in a fallback for IE 6 or something awful like that. The other JavaScript on that page you might want to consider is the analytics scripts you’ve added through page markup. Try removing those, leaving SL and CM in place and see if the problem resolves. Especially the last script – it has a loop to swallow errors in it – that’s a huge no-no since it keeps you from figuring anything else on the page out.

I just stripped back the page of any analytic scripts. The sub menus do not work on iphone or ipad. I am sure of this conflict as I removed the lightbox scripts and the submenus work again.

Please post this version live – I still see all your scripts at the URL you posted.

Hi Steve.
Did you resolve this as the sub menus appear just fine on my iPad.

Just wanted to know what sorted it for you.

Alan.

The sub menus appear for me but the links do not work on iphone or ipad.

They appear, but don’t actually work. The issue is the helper that closes the popup in iOS. On a desktop browser, you have to (and can be reasonably confident in being able to) click on the little close box in the corner of the popup. But on iOS and other touch browsers, I allow any click on the screen – anywhere besides the popup itself – to close that popup. I haven’t figured out the proper combination of event listeners that will properly get that click without hijacking it and making it impossible for any other clicks on the page to work as well.

I’ve just view the ‘Area Attractions’ , ‘Corporate Retreats’ and visited the Facebook page without any issues straight from the menu.
That’s why I wondered if you’d fixed it.

The Movie page didn’t load but I wondered if it was available?

I’ve just retrieved my iPhone and there are issues using that.

Bizarrely it’s not consistent. Sometimes the links under About work and if i navigate back and the URL ends with an additional # the other links ‘might’ work.

I’ll leave it with you.

Okay, test it with 0.2.8, it works here with a local copy of your page.

OK I see how the action is designed. How about going with a larger X and have the ios person click the X to close the window. If the X were 3x larger I would prefer that. Great tool.
